Funders

Over the past eight years, the California Center for Physical Activity (formerly the California Physical Activity & Health Initiative), has received funding from a variety of sources. Base program funding has been provided through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Preventive Health & Health Services Block Grant. The Center has also received funds from the following to conduct various projects, including:

• The development of this web site was supported by funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Preventive Health & Health Services Block Grant.

• Federal transportation enhancement funds through Caltrans to develop the Healthy Transportation Network.

• Caltrans funds to conduct Walkable Community Workshops.

• Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funds to conduct the Walkable Neighborhoods for Seniors project.

• Funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Preventive Health & Health Services Block Grant and the California Nutrition Network to oversee the California Walk to School Headquarters office.

• Funds from the Archstone Foundation, California Wellness Foundation and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to conduct the California Active Aging Network project.
